The Peregrina is a fabulous "rare gem", a pearl, discovered at the beginning of the 16th century off the coast of Panama. It is of an uncommon size and owes its fame to its perfect shape and incomparable colour. This pearl was passed down by the crowned heads of Europe (Phillip II of Spain, Napoleon III, Queen Margaret …) and several celebrities. In 1969, La Peregrina was offered by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor, who is owner to this very day.
